AddThis Election 2012

As I've mentioned many times, we love exploring data at AddThis. It drives our design work, and provides the foundation for our business. Today we were excited to release a new election 2012 compilation page today highlighting the ongoing data analysis we're doing to explore the role of social media in the race for the White House. We wanted to launch this compilation in time for tonight's first debate – so be sure to check back tomorrow for follow-up analysis.

In the meantime, check out the example above showing a breakdown by county where either President Obama or Senator Romney received the most social mentions yesterday, October 2nd. There will be much more to explore over the next month as we get closer to November 6th. Fascinating stuff.

Kudos to the whole team – Jeff Wong, Foo, Steve Piercy, and particularly Greg Cypes who is developing our data visualizations.
